POSITION: Wireless Sales Support Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Wireless Sales Group
SCHEDULE: Full Time 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
REPORTS TO: Wireless Technical Sales Director
POSITION OUTLINE: Assist Wireless Sales and Engineering team by providing sales and technical support as follows:
Order Documentation
- Prepare and maintain ongoing customer pricing and quoting AS400 entry of customer orders, change orders & sample requests.
- Ensure technical accuracy of incoming orders.
- Maintain customer sales orders and weekly customer open order reports & forecasts.
Account Management
- Obtain completed credit application forms for customer accounts requiring credit.
- Communicate with existing & potential customers in verbal and written form.
- Provide samples, quotes & literatures to Reps & Distributors.
- Ensure compliance with special customer requests such as labeling, routing, transportation etc.
- Issue RMA’s, Bill-Backs, Credit Memos & Price Adjustments when needed.
- Assist Sales & Engineering Directors with customer coverage when they travel.
- Coverage of other Regional Account Managers as needed.
Resource Management
- Maintain Sales & Engineering department customer files.
Work with Data Processing & Purchasing to ensure accuracy of customer orders & related data in company AS400 system.
- Ensure Order Acknowledgements have written, special instructions where necessary to ensure packing lists for drop shipments & Sonoma shipments reflect business needs.
- Meet deadlines of various other departments in the company.
- Work with all departments to manage customer expedites.
- Coordinate with Warehouse and Sales on containment of suspect products.
- Assist Purchasing in maintaining proper inventory levels.
Engineering Support
Willing to learn & assist in the following:
- Hardware usage: milling machine & network analyzer.
- Software usage: CAD applications.
- Perform measurements & provide application notes for Sales & Engineering.
- Create antenna assemblies to provide customer samples.
- R&D efforts as needed in company Laboratory.
- Order parts for Laboratory & research hardware.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education
Minimum 2 years education in electrical engineering
Professional
Minimum 2 years practical work experience, with some some exposure to engineering.
Computer knowledge
- PC environment, MS Windows XP O/S and above.
- MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, Power Point.
Miscellaneous
Ability to readily perform soldering & metal prototype tasks.
