Mechanical Engineer

REPORTS TO:
WP Wireless Senior Electrical Engineer
POSITION OUTLINE
- Will be responsible for creating detailed drafts for most of the WP Wireless product portfolio. These drafts will contain all the necessary BOM information and should be detailed enough so the WP Wireless factories can correctly interpret them. Should be experienced in creating Gerber files.
- Will be interacting with WP Wireless Factories, overseas, on a daily basis. Should step up, take ownership and solve any Technical problems that are mechanical related, whenever they arise.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years experience of in-depth Mechanical Design & Quality control expertise for Antennas / Antenna Systems / Radars / Reflector Antennas / Microwave Components is required. Must have a B.S in Mechanical Engineering. M.S in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Very proficient in creating complex designs utilizing the 3D & 2D CAD Packages such as, ProEngineer, Solidworks, AutoCAD & CAM350. Should specialize in developing novel designs for Antenna Radomes, RF connector/cable arrangement & the entire assembly. Proven experience developing marketable & sturdy mechanical models for different types of Antennas such as, Dipoles, Whips, Patches, PIFA’s, Omni Antennas, Directional Antennas, Industrial/Infrastructure Antennas & Antenna Arrays is strongly preferred.
- Must have extensive Material selection knowledge, keeping in perspective the mechanical, electrical & environmental constraints.. Should be very knowledgeable about implementing mechanical/environmental Test procedures at a factory or at any manufacturing facility or assembly line, so as to ensure proper Production Quality control.
- Extensive knowledge about different manufacturing technologies is a necessity. Familiarity with manufacturing costs for different technologies is required. Will work hand in hand with WP Wireless Sr. Electrical and Sales personnel in selecting the right materials for the Antenna build & in conducting appropriate cost analysis. This position reports directly to the WP-Wireless Senior Electrical Engineer.
- Must be able to effectively interface with customers whenever required. Should possess good communication skills. Must be a self starter who enjoys working in a Dynamic Team Environment. Should be a complete team player & willing to mentor junior Mechanical Engineers.
- Willing and able to travel (both domestically & Internationally). About 10-20% of travel.
Additional Skills (preferred but not mandatory)
- Contacts with several Prototyping houses in USA and abroad for different manufacturing technologies.
- Experience designing Antennas & modeling Antennas in Ansoft HFSS or any other EM Simulation software.
- Experience operating a LPKF or a Milling machine.
- Pendant & Publishing.

POSITION:
Antenna Design Engineer

REPORTS TO:
WP-Wireless Senior Electrical Engineer
POSITION OUTLINE:
- Perform the majority of R&D functions in the company’s antenna laboratory
- Will work under the direct supervision of the WP-Wireless Senior Electrical Engineer
- Ideal candidate will be a self starter that enjoys working in a dynamic team environment
- Interact with customers and manufacturing factories on a project by project basis
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering required
- M.S. in Electrical/Electonics with emphasis in Electromagnetics/Antennas preferred
- Minimum 2 years in depth antenna design expertise
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must possess a good understanding and have hands on experience working with Anechoic 2D/3D chambers
- Strong antenna and electromagnetic fundamentals with proven antenna design capabilities
- Ability to readily troubleshoot OTA performance issues relating to PTCRB and other certifications
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and modeling/simulating antennas using Ansoft HFSS required
- Experience modeling/building mechanics in SolidWorks or Pro/Engineer
- Skill to interpret and analyze antenna application notes is required.
- Must have the ability to effectively interface with customers as required
- Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally
ADDITIONAL AREAS OF EXPERIENCE A PLUS:
Designing multiband antennas, low frequency antennas below 400 MHz, active antenna modules, antennas with high isolation under tight space constraints, operating a milling machine and using a base station simulator.
